John D. Leis
- Fantasy Farm was of my all time favorites. My grandparents took
my brother and I there each summer for years when my brother and I were
little. I remember riding the Ferris wheel, the scrambler, and a roller
coaster that did not rise as high as so many do today but as a child it
seemed high enough. I especially remember riding the electric train and
loved it. The little red cars are memorable as well. I do not remember
for sure whether I did the driving or not as I am six years younger than
my brother. I remember riding the merry-go-round as well and one of the
tunes that often times was played on the ride. As crazy as it is being
37 now I can remember that little tune. I couldn't name it but I
remember it. I was born in 1969 and my brother in 1963, we had many good
times for several good years. I also want to add that as a very young
child it was scary but memorable to go through the haunted house ride.
The food was great so were the toys. My wife Kim, who also enjoyed going
to fantasy farm as a child with her family also and remembers several of
the rides. My wife and I went looking one day to see where Fantasy Farm
was, what a sad but memorable sight to see. It was sad to see that a
place that we loved as children is gradually rotting away. I wanted so
much to get out of the car and walk through this place that was so much
fun at one time long ago. Thanks to all who made this sight possible and
shared so many wonderful films, pictures, and memories! What an awesome
ride back in time, John and Kim Leis

G.Sullivan - I was one of the many
people who attended the auction to dispose of a place that gave me many
wonderful childhood memories. I was able to attend many times, as were
my children and also some of my grandchildren. I really feel that the
world was a much better place while this was in Operation. The auction
was a most sad day for me and at the same time one of the most fun times
I have ever had. It was so great to watch others like me bid on pieces
of their most happy days of youth.

Susan Parsons - I have no photos,
but I sure have the memories. When I was at the ages of 6 - 10, my
family and I would always go there. I always had so much fun. Between
all the animals and the great American family fun time. The last time I
was there was after LeSourdsville changed over to Americana. This was my
10th birthday. May 25th 1975. I will never forget, my parents asked me
where I wanted to go for my birthday, and where I wanted to eat lunch
at. We went to Burger Chef, and then to Fantasy Farm. I really miss good
ole family fun. I would love to be able to take my 12 year old daughter
to Fantasy Farm. I'm sad that I can't share the fun I had with
her.

recipes.
